Galaxy Weekly: Welcome to the New Galaxy Baseball Website (and the Next Phase of Galaxy Baseball)
Welcome back!
It’s been a while since we checked in through the Galaxy Weekly Newsletter. I have been working hard to create the new, more powerful Galaxy Baseball website, and that’s the reason we’ve skipped the Galaxy Weekley Newsletter for a while. As I’ve mentioned to our program members, in our effort to continuously improve and set the program up for scaling and future success, we switched from LeagueApps to TeamSnap for our CMS (Content Management System).
The switch has already given our members a much cleaner and more feature-filled user interface and mobile application. The other driving force behind the change was the opportunity to have a new website hosted by WordPress, the global leader in web hosting. As of this post, we have flipped the light switch on at the new website, which I spent weeks building from scratch. I hope it will allow us to offer our families and sponsors a more robust and powerful advertising and day-to-day hub.
You’ll also notice a new logo or two used around the website.
We’ve tweaked our branding from “Nye County Galaxy Baseball” to “Galaxy Baseball.” We are also launching “Nevada Scouts Association,” an extension of our Galaxy Baseball program that will centralize our high school-aged baseball offerings, which will include our existing travel teams, in-depth recruiting profiles, and, eventually, a service that will offer external players an affordable all-in-one recruiting solution that will include combines, showcases, and tournaments.
Why did we shift to Galaxy Baseball?
From day one, we’ve made it clear that we intend to reach for the Galaxy with this program (pun intended). Shifting from NCGB to Galaxy Baseball allows us an unlimited ceiling in terms of how large the program can grow.
For our players and families, nothing changes. This is just a branding move, allowing us room to grow as a brand. The bread and butter of this program, player development, will always remain the same.
What space will the Nevada Scouts Association fill?
For the last decade, I have specialized in high school baseball player development and collegiate recruiting. During my time at various reputable travel baseball organizations in the Greater Chicagoland Area, I have helped numerous students realize their dream of playing college baseball. When my family and I moved to Nevada (in the Fall of 2023), I became involved with the local Little League. Then, I joined Galaxy Baseball.
I noticed a large void in the youth baseball market during this time. An organization that helps band multiple organizations together to achieve one common goal: get as many kids into college as possible. Back home, we had the Chicago Scouts Association, which united premier travel programs and the Midwest’s brightest and most dedicated coaches under one umbrella. This group created select teams and provided players and families affordable access to tournaments, showcases, scouting, recruiting education, and more.
Since its inception in 2011, CSA has helped thousands of players play collegiate baseball and has had 128 players drafted by a Major League Baseball team. I was lucky enough to be a part of that success, working as a coach and instructor on their select teams and at their showcases and combines for multiple years. Through the Nevada Scouts Association, we can help achieve that same goal here in Pahrump, Southwest Nevada, and beyond.
So, what’s next?
Other than the program’s new, shiny, high-powered website, a sharp new logo, and an ever-important extension to work with, nothing. We’re in the thick of our Fall 2024 tournament schedule, and that’s the program’s on-field focus.
We will soon have a YouTube channel up and running, featuring player highlights and much more. We will also update our existing social media channels with the new logo, but for everyone else, it’s business as usual.
See you all on the field!
